Service point description
Munkkiniemi beach is sandy-bottomed, and the water deepens evenly. The beach is at a sheltered spot along Laajalahti shore, about five kilometres from the centre of Helsinki. You can check the water quality, temperature and blue-green algae situation of the beach via the ulkoliikunta.fi map service during the summer season. Lifeguards supervise the beach during the beach season. In addition to dressing rooms and shower and toilet facilities, the beach also has exercise equipment, an ice cream kiosk and a play area for children. How to get there: There is a car park near the beach. You can also easily reach the beach by public transport or city bikes.
Lifeguard on duty
Services: dressing rooms, shower, toilet facilities, exercise equipment, ice cream kiosk and a play area. The dressing rooms are open during the lifeguards' working hours, but are closed about half an hour before their working time ends.
