Service point description
Hyvönen Group Home provides round-the-clock service housing for eight adults with disabilities. The unit has three places in permanent housing and five in temporary housing. You can live in a temporary apartment when in situations such as when you are waiting for a more suitable form of service for yourself or on the cusp of adulthood as your services change. Our workers are present around the clock. At Hyvönen Group Home, you will be living in a private rental apartment. The group home operates on two floors, both of which have a living room and a dining area. The unit has a lift, but the environment is not fully accessible, as the building has thresholds and corridor doors with spring mechanisms, which can make moving about with assistive devices difficult. The apartments do not have their own bathroom or kitchen. We dine in the shared dining area. There are seven supported residents living in the same stairwell as the group home, in their own apartments. The staff of the unit have support visits at their homes, and they come to the group home when they need help and guidance. We also have two more support clients living within walking distance. Our group home also has one crisis accommodation place for clients of disability services who need unexpected, short-term help.
