Service point description

The Yrjönkatu Swimming Hall will be closed for renovations at the turn of the year 2023. Preparatory work for the renovation will begin in January 2024, and the project will take about two years. The indoor swimming pool will be closed throughout this time. According to preliminary plans, the pool will be reopen to the public in January 2026. The first swimming hall in Finland exudes unique and historic spa atmosphere right in the heart of Helsinki. It has retained its original appearance to this day and attracts between 300-800 swimmers daily. Compared to other swimming halls in the city, Yrjönkatu swimming hall is unique in that bathing suits are not required, as the swimming pool's opening hours are divided into women's and men's sessions. You can also enjoy the historic spa atmosphere with lounge cabins, restaurant services and various saunas on the second floor of the swimming hall. The swimming hall building is architecturally significant: it was designed by architect Väinö Vähäkallio and represents the classical trend of the 1920s.

Taking photos is prohibited in the swimming hall area.
